Nikkei’s flagship Japanese financial newspaper Nihon Keizai Shimbun is seeking a Staff Reporter to work with its Hong Kong Bureau Chief.

The person will cover politics, business and economic news in Hong Kong and greater China, pitch story ideas, attend press conferences, conduct interviews, and do translation and fact-checking work, with opportunities to contribute English articles to Nikkei Asia as well.

The ideal candidate should be a passionate journalist who is curious about a wide range of topics. It is a good opportunity for young journalists to develop a solid foundation of journalistic skills to work at regional media.

He/she should be fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin and have a good knowledge of current affairs, industry trends and financial markets. Japanese proficiency is preferred but not required.

This position would be suitable for a young journalist or also recent university graduate.
