HKJA Complaint Procedures

The Hong Kong Journalists Association strives to enhance professional and ethical standards. An Ethics Committee comprised of 2 serving veteran journalists and at least 1 ExCom member receives and vets complaints against unethical reporting of the local media. Complain procedures are as follows:

(1) . We accept written complaints only. Please send the original report together with a complaint letter to the Ethics Committee of the HKJA via post or email. Address: 15A, Henfa Commercial Bldg, 348-350 Lockhart Road, Wanchai; email: [email protected]
(2) . The Ethics Committee will scrutinise the complaint in great detail before arriving at a judgement.
(3) . Committee members will refer to the code of ethics of the Hong Kong Journalists Association when making the judgement.
(4) . We will send judgment to all parties concerned, and will also have it published in our website.
Attention: Complainant have to provide real name and contact numbers to the Hong Kong Journalists Association. All personal particulars will only be used for investigative purpose, they will not be disclosed to the organisation complained.
